Solution Labs I & II successfully conducted in Huế

On 12 March 2026, FloodAdaptVN successfully conducted the first two of five planned Solution Labs in Huế City in a single day, running as two consecutive half-day sessions. The Solution Labs are a central format of the Implementation Phase, bringing together local stakeholders from administration, academia, civil society, the private sector, and youth organisations to co-develop concrete pathways towards a more climate-resilient city.

Solution Lab I – Visioning (morning, led by IZES) engaged around 18 participants in a structured visioning process. Working in three stakeholder groups, participants reflected on the current state of flood risk management in Huế, developed positive visions for a climate-resilient city in 2050, and identified priority areas of action. The outputs feed directly into FloodAdaptVN’s adaptation pathway development.

Solution Lab II – Adaptation Pathways (afternoon, led by UNU) built directly on the morning’s results. Participants validated bundles of ecosystem-based adaptation measures and worked collaboratively to sequence them into adaptation pathways, considering future flood risks, policy cycles, and local governance structures. The results will form the basis for the upcoming Solution Labs III and IV, the Regional Networking Forum, and the Upscaling Workshop in Hà Nội.

Both sessions were hosted by Huế University (HUIS) and supported by the FloodAdaptVN consortium. Further Solution Labs are planned for later in 2026.
